The 19th borough combines quite a few districts. The zoo and the meadows of the river Isar make Thalkirchen a local recreation area. The riverside of this part of the Isar is called “Flaucher”. In the summer the “Flaucher” is a very popular area to have a barbecue. A beautiful natural outdoor pool “Maria Einsiedel” is also close by.
Obersendling is an industrial and housing estate which is dominated by the company Siemens. In Solln one will find many multi-storey buildings but Gartenstadt Solln is a beautiful and elegant residential area.
Forstenried and Fürstenried sound very similar but this is about it. Forstenried still has an old village square. Fürstenried is dominated by big housing estates.
